How to Create API Users?

What is the purpose of the API Users feature in OpenStack?

To grant authenticated users access to interact with the OpenStack APIs.

This guide will walk you through the process to create API user.

If you receive an "Incorrect email or password" error, you may proceed by selecting "Forgot Password." For guidance, please refer to our Helpdesk article: How to Reset Your Password for the Cloud Control Panel

In the left sidebar, click on the 'API users' tab, then click the '+' icon located at the bottom-right corner of the screen.

You’ll be prompted with a new page where you need to enter the required details: name, password, and description. The password will be used later to access the OpenRC file. Once all details are entered, click ‘Create’ to proceed.

Note: For the name section, kindly create a name without spaces. This is to prevent authentication issues. You may refer to the picture below for an example of an API user name.
